Recently, the Red Lion has come under new ownership and I am delighted to be able to introduce myself and my wife as the new landlords; Paul and Angela Crompton, but call us Paul and Ange! We are friendly, bubbly people and have lived in Evenley for a few years now. When we initially moved to Evenley in 2002 and fell in love with the setting, its villagers and the community spirit. We really want to bring this sense community and fun to the Red Lion and welcome villagers and newcomers into the pub to support the village and most importantly, have some FUN!

The Red Lion Pub is situated in the beautiful village of Evenley, very close to Brackley and easily accessible from the M40. Fortunately, we are within ‘window smashing’ distance from Evenley cricket green, and get to watch all of the action from our local team. We are also more than happy to announce our purchase of a brand new ‘all singing all dancing’ TV with HD so that on those not so nice English days you can come and join us inside for some friendly chat and maybe even some sport on the TV!

Every tuesday evening from 8:30pm onwards we hold our weekly quiz, it is lots of fun for everyone involved and also promotes some healthy competition amongst our teams with a £20 bar token up for grabs! We are also pleased to announce that Sid, Nigel and Rob (The Montana’s) have now committed to a full year of performances at the Red Lion and we hope that we can fill the pub up and give them a very warm welcome. I am sure that everyone who has come and seen them on Sunday can agree, they have been fantastic entertainment! Keep up the good work guys!

After our first 2 months behind the bar at The Red Lion, we can honestly say we are knackered! Taking on a job like this has not been easy, but the support from everyone has been fantastic! We have had loads of really positive feedback from visitors and locals, so thank you for that! We really hope that we can keep up our good work so you can keep on enjoying yourselves in the Red Lion!

We evidently feel very strongly about encouraging a community feel around the Red Lion, but we also want to welcome anyone wanting to get a taste of our food and drinks! If you are driving past, please stop by, come and say hello and have a drink, you will be welcomed with open arms (metaphorically of course)!
